Advanced Cancer Treatment Technologies

Alliance Cancer Center Blytheville

Patients at the Alliance Cancer Center Blytheville are able to take advantage of a full range of advanced cancer treatment technologies. Our treatment options are extensive and top of the line, so our patients know they are getting the best possible care.

External Beam Radiation Therapy
A machine aims high-energy rays at the cancer and the immediate surrounding areas to destroy the main tumor and any nearby cancer cells.

3D Conformal Therapy
Allows for three-dimensional visualization of the tumor and surrounding normal tissues during treatment planning.

Intensity Modulated Radiation Therapy (IMRT)
This is a type of 3-dimensional radiation therapy in which beams of radiation of different intensities are aimed at the tumor from many angles. This treatment reduces the damage to healthy tissue near the tumor.

Image Guided Radiation Therapy (IGRT)
This advanced imaging technology allows for precise treatment delivery through its capability to accurately focus the radiation on the target, making the radiation therapy more accurate, causing less damage to the surrounding healthy tissue.

Accelerated Partial Breast Irradiation (APBI)
Also referred to as high dose rate breast brachytherapy, APBI is a shortened course of high dose radiation therapy that is given to breast cancer patients and targets the area of the breast where the cancer is most likely to recur. APBI is an amazing option for our patients because it reduces treatment time from seven or eight weeks, to only four or five days.
